Nate has successfully acted as lead counsel in trials, arbitrations, and appeals at all levels of court in Ontario and in other provinces. He is repeatedly recognized by industry awards for excellence in corporate and commercial litigation and is described by his peers as “an exceptional advocate.”
As Chair of AGB’s Technology Committee, Nate leads initiatives to integrate AI and data-driven tools into litigation strategy and client service. He teaches advocacy at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law and contributes to pro bono cases.

Nate Read-Ellis is a Toronto-based commercial litigation lawyer and trial advocate known for his strategic insight, professionalism, and courtroom excellence. A partner at Adair Goldblatt Bieber LLP, Nate represents entrepreneurs and businesses in complex commercial disputes, shareholder and partnership litigation, class actions, and corporate governance matters across diverse industries, including renewable energy, real estate, financial services, and telecommunications.
Nathalie Nouvet is a partner in Stikeman Elliott LLP’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution Group. Her practice focuses on restructuring, insolvency, and commercial litigation. Nathalie regularly advises and represents debtors, secured lenders, court-appointed officers, and purchasers in proceedings under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangements Act and the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act. She is involved in Québec-based, national, and cross-border proceedings and has appeared before all levels of courts, including the Supreme Court of Canada.
Her practice also covers all facets of litigation, ranging from providing strategic advice to clients on litigious or potentially litigious issues to representing clients at trial and in appeal. She has broad experience in all areas of commercial law, including contract law, securities, financial and corporate litigation, and shareholder disputes. She is a member of the Montréal office’s Students & Stagiaires Committee, and acts as a mentor for lawyers, students and stagiaires.
